While living in Washington I have not been able to paint much. 2008 has been a strange year regarding art as I have focused on just enjoying art rather than producing. I have filled my life with music this time… one year for Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, the Raconteurs, Radiohead, the Kills, the Teenagers, We are Scientists, B-52’s, Filter, Kings of Leon, the Breeders, Lou Reed, Cafe Tacvba, Morcheeba and some other bands unnoticed (yet). Anyways, I was able to paint at least four paintings: all different size, similar techniques and same subject: Rio de Janeiro.  This time I used a mixed technique: I printed photographs I have taken in Brazil in 2006 and glued them to a canvas/board and paint on them… in other words, felt like being back at school doing a collage.

Vivir en Washington no me ha permitido pintar demasiado. 2008 ha sido un año extraño a lo que arte se refiere ya que me focalizado mas en disfrutar el arte que en producirlo. He llenado mi vida con musica esta vez.. un año de mi vida para Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, the Raconteurs, Radiohead, the Kills, the Teenagers, We are Scientists, B-52’s, Filter, Kings of Leon, the Breeders, Lou Reed, Cafe Tacvba, Morcheeba y otras bandas que no son conocidas (todavia). Aun asi, pude pintar por lo menos cuatro cuadros: todos de diferentes tamaños, con tecnicas similares y sobre el mismo tema: Rio de Janeiro. Esta vez utilice una tecnica mixta: imprimi fotografias que habia tomado durante mi visita a Brasil en 2006 y las pegue en un canvas/carton y pinte sobre ellas… en otras palabras, me senti como de vuelta en el colegio haciendo un collage.
